As well as our group departure tours and treks we provide a competitive and expert tailor made service. Each year more and more of our clients ask us to design a unique tailor made itinerary based on the their individual requirements.

Our first-hand knowledge and expertise enables us to make suggestions and design an itinerary to suit your travel plans. The benefit of tailor-made travel is that your complete journey is designed around your own wishes. This allows you to explore at your own pace and select accommodation that suits your requirements and budget.

Our group departures will provide ideas. These itineraries can be taken exactly as they are departing on a date to suit you or they can be adapted to suit your tastes and interests or completely re-planned.

Over the last 21 years we have made the travel arrangements for many different groups and individuals including:

A re-union trek in Nepal to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first ascent of Mt. Everest for five of the original 1953 climbing members and their familiy including, the late Lord Hunt, George Band, Michael Westmacott, George Lowe, Charles Wylie and Sir Edmund Hillary. A film was subsequently made and shown on the BBC.

In Nepal our partners have organised expeditions for Chris Bonnington and Alan Hinkes and our colleague in India, Neeraj Pathania, has recently worked as the location manager for a BBC/Discovery Channel documentary.

Planning the itinerary
The detailed itineraries will give you many good ideas for your holiday however, if the itinerary requires slight alteration to fit into your own ideas or travel dates this can also be arranged and a cost advised. The costs on the website or in the brochure are based on the set itineraries, generally these are on a minimum number of two people travelling on a twin share basis. Please check the detailed itinerary for minimum numbers. If the minimum number is for 4 or 6 people the cost for two travelling will be higher than what is on the website or in the brochure. If you were travelling alone this can be accommodated however, the cost would need to be quoted separately.

The best time to visit a country is given in the detailed itineraries
Generally it is best to avoid monsoon seasons unless you are prepared for rain, disruption, delays and changes at short notice. Sometimes however you may wish to visit outside normal tourist seasons to see specific species of plants or birds. You may travel with us out of season as long as you are aware that the weather may affect the normal itinerary.

Tailor-making your holiday dates
This is very simple, if there are daily flights to your chosen destination, most of our destinations have daily flights. You can therefore select any date to suit you and the itinerary will run from that date. If flights are only on a certain day of the week we will need to help you select the correct date, please contact the office if you are unsure. Airfares for flights departing in the forthcoming year might not yet be on the airlines systems, however the earlier we can book the seats the better the fare. Airlines systems open approximately a year in advance of the return travel dates e.g. if over Christmas of 2007 you started to plan your holiday for a departure in 2009 the following would apply, flying out on the 21 Feb 2009 returning 14 Mar 2009, fares will not be on available until 14 Mar 2008. You can certainly chose to book the holiday before the airfares are available, we will then ensure we secure the best fare as soon as it is possible. Leaving it late to book flights normally results in a higher fare.

If you would like to book a tailor-made tour
Please post us a booking form placing “tailor-made” in the tour reference box and “the tour / itinerary name” in the tour name box and your chosen departure date in the departure date box. If you would like the itinerary adjusted please either call or e-mail us, write the alterations on a separate accompanying letter or place alterations in the extension box on the booking form e.g. one extra day at Yala National Park.

The deposit required for our tailor-made holidays is £450 per person
Deposits can be paid via cheque, debit or credit card. Tailor-made trips exceeding 28 days may require a higher deposit, please contact us to check.
